It was a great day for painting!
My first site was a perfect setting for a long view through a meadow, past a barn and up at Mount Mansfield. Luckily the storage units were off to my left and out of my composition. Less lucky, the Mountain was so shrouded with clouds it never fully revealed.
After a light lunch with friend Claire at the Jericho Town Green, I headed to the second site: a beautiful beaver pond! I was greeted by a mama goose and her two young, serenaded by bobolink and red winged blackbirds and even got to see great blue herons (a nesting pair?) fly in and out multiple times.
It’s amazing how connecting to place makes such a difference in the quality of the work. I’m betting you can guess which of the two made it into the Gruppe Gallery for the show!
